How to Add Users to Google Analytics

 

In Google Analytics, you can add as many users as you need to. This can help you give access to your entire team and get all hands on deck towards your SEO and web presence.

To add a new user to an account, just follow these steps:

1. First, you will need to sign in to your Google Analytics account.

2. Next, select the Admin tab and navigate to the desired account/property/view. In the ACCOUNT, PROPERTY, or VIEW column (depending upon whether you want to add the user at the account, property, or view level), click User Management.

3. Under Add permissions for, enter the email address for the user’s Google Account. Then, select the permissions you want( you can learn more about permissions here.

4. Finally, select “notify this user by email” to send a notification to each user you’re adding and click “add”.

 

For Site Owners: Add or Remove Users

Full users can view all data and take most of the available actions. These include actions such as changing site settings or demoting certain site links. Restricted users can view most data, and can take a limited amount of actions (such as using “Fetch As Google” and configuring message forwarding).

If you want someone to have full control over the site (and you are a site owner yourself), you can add them as an owner instead. Not sure how to do this? Read about permissions in Search Console here.

Only the site owners can add or remove users or other owners. If you’ve added and verified your site in Search Console or if your site has been automatically verified, you’re automatically classified as a site owner.

To add a new user, follow these steps:
1. On the Search Console home page, click the site you want to add a new user to.
2. Click the gear icon and then click “Users & Site Owners”.
3. Click “Add a new user”.
4. Type the email address of the user you want to add and select the permissions you want to give them.
5. Click “Add”.

Once this is complete, the new user should sign in to Search Console and add the site. The owner will be automatically verified.
